God of Abundance

I am a God of abundance. I will never run out of resources; My capacity to bless you is unlimited. You have access to as much of Me as you have faith to receive. Rejoice in My abundance--living by faith, not by sight.
~Sarah Young, Jesus Calling

It is so easy to lose our perspective when we take our eyes off of God and look at our circumstances instead. We get caught up in what we see and, while those are facts, those things exist, they are not Truth.

And, the real problem is that what we concentrate on, what we look at, what we think about, tends to grow. So, if you are worried about a lack of finances and concentrating on that, you are, in effect, watering that plant of lack so that it will grow.

If you are worried about a lack of health and worry about that, you are fertilizing sickness and allow it to grow and develop in your body.

If you are lonely and find yourself concerned that you may live the rest of your life alone, you are nurturing that and allowing the seeds of loneliness to take root in your life.

Remember what Jesus said:

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
~Matthew 6:31-33 (King James Version)

There is supposed to be a difference between the way the followers of Christ -- or Christians -- live. Instead of worrying about tomorrow, or regretting our mistakes of the past, we are to live in the present, in God's Presence, trusting in His ability to bring us the things we need.

That's what seeking first the Kingdom of God is all about!

It's all a matter of focus (yes, I know, one of my favorite words). But, we tend to become more like what we look at.

Have you noticed that when you hear a sad story, you tend to become sad? When someone tells you about being wronged, don't you have a tendency to feel a little bit angry on their behalf? If you balance your checkbook and it seems inconsistent with the stack of bills you have to pay, if you're not careful, don't you tend to get a little fearful?

Fear is faith -- but in the negative. So, instead, realize that God is faithful and in turn, you will be full of the good kind of faith, the God kind of faith, the faith that moves mountains.

God is so much more abundant that we can even imagine. When you think of water, what do you think of? A glass full of water? Maybe a lake? Now, look at God's perspective. Three quarters of the earth is covered with water. Even your body is made up of 60% water!

When you think of light, what do you think of? Turning on the light in a dark room? When God said "Light be" light exploded throughout the Universe and is continuing on today.  It's never ending.

Our God is extravagant, opulent, abundant, overflowing, wealthy beyond description...

So, what are you worried about?
